Native Vine offers a friendly and laid back tasting and shopping environment where you can learn about, taste and purchase wines from many of North Carolina's award-winning wineries. There are two locations, one in Point Harbor, just across the Wright Memorial Bridge from the Outer Banks, and one in Nags Head at the 12.5 mp across from Jockey's Ridge. At the Point Harbor location, connected to the tasting room is Big City Wine Warehouse. Here you can find wines and beers from throughout the world.....from $50 value cases to $500 special occasion bottles, and everything in between. They pride themselves on offering wines that you might not have tried before, but will be glad you did. Native Vine holds weekly reserve tastings of wines from throughout the world. Reserve tastings are at 6:30pm on Fridays in the off-season, and Thursday and Friday at 6:30pm Spring-Fall. The cost is usually $15-25 and includes 7-8 wines and light food pairings. Reservations are required (252.491.5311). Native Vine also hosts three major wine festivals during the year. In March, there is the Int'l Wine Expo in conjuction with the Taste of the Beach festivities in the Outer Banks. In May is the Cinco de Wino Wine and Beer Jam and in October is the Outer Banks International Wine Festival.
