Southern Shores, Duck and Corolla. However, if you follow some simple rules, you can avoid a lot of hassles and significantly reduce your travel time: 1. Consider a Sunday to Sunday rental (versus Saturday to Saturday). The check ins are lighter on Sunday. 2. Consider arriving early or late. If you arrive to coincide when your rental becomes available, you should expect a bit of travel delay as you move down the road to your rental. 3. A good idea for check-in, is to arrive early (before 1pm), and spend some time in a restaurant, at the beach or other destination. Go play Putt-putt or enjoy a movie (if the weather isn't cooperating). This will enable you to get where you need to go. You can then check-in at your designated time without sitting in traffic. 4. Consider checking out early (before 7am) or later (leaving and then going and doing something while you wait for traffic to subside. If you are used to going to bigger beaches, our traffic is minor. However, following these tips may make your travel more enjoyable.
